I have been an overthinker for as long as I can remember and I know how it can massively impact on your physical and mental health. It can cause trouble with sleeping, physical energy and your ability to concentrate. It can also affect your emotions too causing you to have mood swings. I have put together a few tips to help with processing over thinking and make it easier to deal with.
Tip one: Writing down your thoughts and feelings
If you have a little notebook you don't really use anymore, or buy yourself one maybe with an inspirational quote on. Every time you feel a certain way or have a worry or a problem write down in your notebook. Maybe adding what made you feel or think that way, how it can be avoided next time.
Tip two: Writing a list
If you feel like you have a million and one things to do in one week, one day or one month write them all down. Categorise your tasks into groups in relation to how important they are and work through them one by one. Do not take on to many tasks at once as this can contribute to a strong feeling of being overwhelmed.
Tip three: Writing up your goals and how to achieve them.
If you have a goal or a few goals that you want to achieved write them down, Mark them from 1-5 in how likely and easy they will be achieved 1 being the lowest 5 being the highest. Write down how you are going to achieve them and in what time frame.
